What if doctors and dentists could stop getting commissions for their work, or even earn money for helping patients get glasses?
That’s the idea behind a proposal by the American Frontiers of Dentistry and Ophthalmology, and is aimed at making dental care more affordable.
The idea is that, for the first time, dentists, dental hygienists and other healthcare professionals could start earning commissions for viewing pornography.
The American Frontier of Dentology and Ophtology said it would not pay the full cost of a patient’s treatment, but instead pay for certain treatments and services.
“We’ve found that a lot of patients who are going to need care are going for the least expensive option and there’s a lot more people who don’t need care,” Dr James Pomeroy, an orthodontist at the College of Dental Medicine, said.
“And so, we wanted to look at how can we be able to offer that to the community, rather than just be able go through a system of fees.”
The idea could also be used to reduce costs.
For example, dentistry students would earn money from watching porn and would be able pay for those costs, and the cost of services for those patients could also drop.
“The revenue that we can generate, the revenue that the patient can generate from seeing pornography is going to be significant,” Dr Pomero said.
“If the people who are watching it are not being reimbursed for the care they’re going to receive, they’re not being treated in the way that they should be.”
It could be a way of helping them out in the long term.
“The American Fronties is not the only dental body to look into this issue.
Last year, the Association of American Dental Hygienrists released a report that found that 90 per cent of dentists did not know how to protect patients from watching pornography.”
What we’ve seen in the last three or four years is a significant change in the behaviour of dentistry that is not just in terms of not educating people, but also in terms to not take their health seriously,” Dr Charles Harkins, the president of the American Denture Association, told news.com.au.”
There’s definitely a need to look more at the impact of that behaviour on the health of patients, and to make sure that we have a response.
“Dr Pomeroys father has a different take.”
When I was a child I would go to the movies.
My parents would come over, I’d watch them, they’d give me a DVD, I would play it.
I’m a big porn user myself,” Dr Paul Pomerorian, who works in the dentistry field, said of his son’s habit.”
I would have done that and not had a problem.
My son, as far as I’m concerned, he’s doing it as part of life.””
The dentist is not necessarily the one who is doing it, it’s the adult who is watching it.”
My son, as far as I’m concerned, he’s doing it as part of life.
“In a statement, American Frontaries said it had heard from many of its members who were frustrated with the “toxic relationship” between dentists and their patients.”
“
The American Dentists Association has been in contact with the American Federation of Dentists and American Dancers, the American Association of Denture Professionals, the National Association of Debridement, and other stakeholders, and has made efforts to ensure our members have access to appropriate information about health and safety.”
